The Time Travel Costumes sewing circle is a monthly gathering of sewists at Heidi's studio. It is not a class — it is a collaborative working session where members bring their own projects and everyone learns from each other. Here is what to expect.

Format

Sessions typically run 3–4 hours. Members bring whatever they are currently working on — a costume in progress, a fitting problem they are trying to solve, or a new pattern they want to try. Heidi circulates and answers questions, but the sessions are self-directed rather than formally instructed.

Who It's For

The sewing circle suits people who already have basic sewing skills and want to work in good company, get occasional expert feedback, and stay motivated to finish their projects. It is not ideal for complete beginners (though beginners are welcome with realistic expectations).

What You'll Need

Heidi's studio has sewing machines, an iron and ironing board, and an extensive library of reference books. You are welcome to use any of these.

How to Join

Spaces are limited and occasionally available. Contact Heidi via the contact page to inquire about the next available session.

Note

The sewing circle focuses on garment sewing — costumes, historical reproduction, and dressmaking. Quilting and craft projects are welcome too, though the group's expertise is strongest in construction and fitting.
