Special Orders: Things You Should Know

I primarily sew for my own entertainment, but recently I have begun taking a few orders for custom gowns.

You can order a custom gown from me even if you aren't local. However, you need to be 100% sure that you are giving me accurate measurements, since the gown will only fit well if I have precise information to work from. Of course, I prefer that you visit me for a fitting, if you live close enough to do so.

A custom gown order is a huge undertaking, and will likely cost you several hundred dollars. My rates are low (I usually charge the cost of materials plus $15/hour for my time), but making a gown takes more time than many people realize, and it's not uncommon for me to spend forty or fifty hours on one dress.

I will request that you allow me to post photographs of you wearing the costume on my website, as part of my portfolio.

I currently have a backorder time of about 3 months.
