Pirate Queen (Simplicity 8855) sca Medieval Scottish Renaissance Faire Costume
I have some Scottish blood from my mother's side and this is one of my favorite costumes. I made it in 2000 or 2001 for a Renaissance Faire in Anderson, CA. I didn't get to go to the Faire, but I have worn it many times since then, and lent it out many times as well! It's been a great costume.
It has three pieces: shirt, vest and skirt. I did make the hat, but to be honest it looks terrible, so I never wear it. I typically wear the dress with a huge petticoat and I carry my "musket" around with it too.
